In addition to our children’s dance classes, at Slaneyside School of Dancing, we are proud to offer the opportunity to aspiring dance teachers to train within our County Wexford dance school.

We provide part-time and bespoke training for the ISTD Level 4 teaching qualification, Diploma in Dance Education (DDE).

Our qualified instructor Sam aims to coach and train passionate dancers into educators themselves, sharing her knowledge, talent and expertise to help dreams turn into reality.

The Course

Your bespoke dance teacher training with Slaneyside School of Dancing can be tailored to suit your current lifestyle. You will study all five units of the DDE qualification, through a combination of weekly and/or intensive studio time, plus online training.

  • Unit 1 – Preparing for Safe Teaching (15 credits at Level 3)
  • Unit 2 – Observation, Assisting and Teaching Practice (30 credits at Level 4)
  • Unit 3 – Vocational Graded Examination in Dance: Intermediate (28 credits at Level 3)
  • Unit 4 – Dance Practice (30 credits at Level 4)
  • Unit 5 – Social, Emotional & Cognitive Development (17 credits at Level 4)

Mentoring and vocational dance classes also offered as part of the course, as well as the opportunity to refresh the work if you’re already qualified. Never stop learning or progressing!
